New Twist On An Old Classic
Hamlet
William Shakespeare
In the dead of night the watchmen of the castle catch a glimpse of an eerie sight. A ghost is wondering around the castle grounds. He speaks to no one except the teenage Prince Hamlet, who turns out to be his son. The ghost, who is the old King tells Hamlet about his gruesome murder and that he wishes for Hamlet to take revenge for his wrongful death. Hamlet comes up with a great plan to flush out his uncle who killed his father and has claimed the throne. But even great plans can have great risk.
This was a very interesting book, the pictures were very well done and portrayed the characters beautifully. This book is great for anyone who enjoys books about murder and love and madness. great or all ages but has some larger words that may be confusing.

Junior Fantasy
Secret of the Sirens
Julia Golding
Connie Lionheart does not expect anything great when she is forced go and live her crazy aunt in a small coastal town in England while her parents travel around the world. She is starting a new school and so far the only person she knows is Colin Clamworthy one of the most popular boys in school. Connie does not think that she will ever get used to living with her aunt, especially when her aunt starts talking about some secret society. But what Connie does not know is that there is a great danger that is coming and that she maybe the only person who can stop it.
This was such a great book I could not put it down. I would reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy books and for people who like learning about mythological creatures. This is a great book for all ages. This is book one in the Companions Quartet and this series is sure to stir up the imagination of all who read it.

Another Banned Book
The Grapes Of Wrath
John Steinbeck
The great depression was sweeping through the country, but it was hitting hardest in the "dust bowl" a place in the mid west United States. A young man is released from prison on parole and he is trying to find his family who live in the mid west. When he finally catches up to them they tell him that they want to go to California. They embark on a great road trip to California, a trip filled with birth, death, sorrow, and joy.
A great book, but defiantly a book for a matured reader because it is very long. It can be hard to follow at times because it switches narrator perspectives a lot. However it is a good classic book and it really shows you how important family is and that you should always keep going even when the going gets tough.

Banned Book
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Ken Kesey
Chief Bromden or "Chief Broom" to the black boys at the Combine Mental Ward, has been committed for longer than any other patient that enters the ward. His world revolves around a schedule nothing out of the ordinary, receiving his medication cleaning and eating. But that all changes when a new patient enters the ward. His name is Randle Patrick McMurphy, a fun loving, fighting Irishman; and he is focused on turning the whole ward upside down starting with the head nurse a large tyrannical woman name Mrs. Ratched.
This was a very good book, I enjoyed reading it and getting to know the narrator. The book is in first person so it can be hard to follow at times. It can get confusing, but it is defiantly a book worth sticking to with a great ending. I would recommend this book to the older readers as this book is really not for kids.

High School Journal
Sleeping Freshman Never Lie
David Lubar
For Scott Hudson being a freshman in High School is starting to stink. His good friends are hanging with a different crowd and just do not understand him. The girl that he has known since middle school acts like he does not exist. And to top all of that off his mom is having a baby, and now Scott will not be the youngest. He comes up with this great idea to document his experiences to teach his new sibling about High School. But when something bad happens to a kid at school, Scott is left thinking about his impact on the school.
This book was very good and I love the part when he takes this Gothic girl named Lee to a school dance, and they dance together. It was so cute. I would recommend this book to people who are freshman in High School or even people who have graduated. This book is also good for people who like to read journals about people's lives.
